Equifax Cyber Security Incident

Equifax has announced a cybersecurity incident potentially impacting 143 million consumers and some Canadian residents.

We can confirm that North Peace Savings & Credit Union members who were given credit monitoring protection as a result of the Get Your Share incident are not impacted by this breach as the Canadian database was not affected.

If you have concerns about the security of information held by Equifax:

  1. Equifax has established a dedicated website,, to help consumers determine if their information has been potentially impacted and to sign up for credit file monitoring and identity theft protection.
  2. Equifax recommends that consumers with additional questions visit or contact a dedicated call centre at 866.447.7559.
  3. Equifax will send direct mail notices to consumers whose credit card numbers or dispute documents with personal identifying information were impacted.
