North Peace Savings’ 2013 Year in Review

North Peace Savings’ 2013 financial results were presented at their Annual General Meeting.

Fort St John, February 11 – North Peace Savings and Credit Union held their Annual General Meeting on February 4, 2014 and released their financial results for 2012-2013.

The use of innovative services, such as the Personal Teller Machines in remote markets, enabled the credit union to foster new and existing relationships. Cultivating these relationships resulted in a 3.8% growth in membership with assets having grown 10.2% this year. “These numbers are strong indicators that our ability to cater to the unique local needs of our communities is being valued by our members, for both personal and business finances,” explained Mitchel Chilcott, CEO, North Peace Savings and Credit Union. As leaders in an ever changing environment, North Peace Savings adapts itself to the evolving financial demands of life in North–East British Columbia.

Awards and Recognition in 2013:

  • National Innovation Award from Credit Union Central Canada
  • Innovation Award from Central 1
  • Achievement in Marketing Excellence Award for Special Events from the Marketing Association for Credit Unions

Financial Numbers For the fiscal year ending September 30, 2013:

  • Membership growth of 3.8%
  • Asset growth of 10.2% to $350,420,000
  • Retained earnings grew 6% to $17,426,000
  • Operating profits returned to members through patronage and dividend payments of $378,000
  • 223 new mortgages signed
  • Gross commercial loans $93,790,780
