North Peace Savings Invests in New Technology to Support Enhanced Customer Service Offering

   December 7, 2011

North Peace Savings and Credit Union (NPSCU) is pleased to announce the introduction of Personal Teller Machines (PTMs) at its Fort St. John and Fort Nelson Branches, with additional machines planned in the future. The new technology offers live video-banking with an NPSCU representative, combining the service of a teller with the convenience of a banking machine.

The new PTM machines will allow NPSCU to offer the longest banking hours of any financial institution in Fort St. John or Fort Nelson, with "personal tellers" available from 7:00 am through 7:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. Additional information about PTMs is available at:

Most banking transactions that would normally be done in a branch can also be done at a PTM:

  • Deposits
  • Withdrawals
  • Cheque Cashing
  • Bill and loan payments
  • Credit card cash advances
  • Bank drafts
  • Cheque orders
  • And more!

Added VP, Service Paul McAfee: "It's great to be investing in technology and additional hires to provide better Customer Service to our members. The new PTMs will reduce wait times and provide extended hours to our members that are second to none."

NPSCU is the first financial institution in Western Canada to offer PTMs, and only the second in the country. The new PTMs will be supported by a Virtual Service Centre in Fort St. John.
