North Peace Savings and Credit Union Sends Two Kids To Camp This Summer!

NPSCU is sending Paige Pearson and Bree Mytron of Fort St. John to YES camp this summer on Vancouver Island!

The YES camp is a non-profit organization run in conjunction with the BC Co-operative Association and Rainbow Youth Excellence Society. The YES camp offers week-long leadership retreats, at Lake Cowichan on Vancouver Island, to provide young people ages 14 to 18 the chance to learn leadership skills and grow as individuals.

North Peace Savings and Credit Union is a proud sponsor of YES camp and provides funding to youth from the Peace region to attend YES camp each summer. When asked what she’s most looking forward to about attending camp this summer, Paige Pearson says “I’m really looking forward to going to YES Camp this summer. It’s an adventure that I will hopefully remember forever and I look forward to an opportunity to make new friends from other parts of the Province.”

“Investing in communities is an integral part of our credit union values. We’re happy to provide sponsorship to these two young leaders in training.  It will be an enriching experience for them as the camp is focused on building self-esteem and confidence within a tight community of youth. These young women will leave having made friends they will keep forever.” Said Paul McAfee from NPSCU.

Bree Mytron shares she hasn’t had the opportunity to attend summer camp for a long time “I'm really stoked to be able to go to The YES camp. All the activities sound like loads of fun and the people seem pretty stellar. I'm sure it is going to be an awesome week!”

Watch for updates on Paige and Bree’s summer camp adventures this fall.
